Silky Swift VCM Autofocus

Silky Swift Voice Coil Motor (VCM) uses magnets instead of gears to move the focusing groups at higher initials speeds and with greater accuracy and smoothness. A guide bar is also employed, which helps reduce focusing vibrations for greater continuous focusing speeds. (WARNING: Do not use this product if you have a pacemaker or other medical device. The magnet or magnets in this product could cause medical devices to malfunction.)

Using a high-precision sensor from the robotics industry, this lens features an optical ABS (absolute) encoder to detect and communicate lens position information with extreme accuracy to optimized fast and accurate AF performance.

Dust-and-drip resistance.

The NIKKOR Z 400mm f/2.8 TC VR S has a magnesium alloy structure with sealing across movable parts on the lens barrel and a rubber gasket around the lens mount for superior dust and drip resistance⁵. A flourine-coated front element also repels dust, water and oil which makes it much easier to clean.

Nikon Z 400mm 2.8 1.4TC lens

Excellent quality lens producing excellent images at both 400mm and 560mm. Very impressed with external 2.0TC used with 400mm 2.8, quality of images equivalent to the 800mm 6.3 lens, for small bird photography. Delivery from LKN was within the timeframe expected. Images produced from local cricket game at 560mm.
