"The NIKKOR Z 28mm f/2.8 is perfect for those who want nice width but with something lighter in hand. The compactness of the NIKKOR Z 28mm f/2.8 lens makes it easy to explore nature/city hand holding the camera and lens. It has beautiful bokeh for its price point, and is so impressive for close range shooting e.g. food or flowers." - Nikon Z Creator Dom Cherry | @domcherry
Coupled with the lens’ quiet drive and highly precise multi-focus system, the click-less control ring provides convenience and further minimises sounds so you can take filming to the next level.

Get in close.
Capture stills and videos in wider perspectives instantly, with the wide angle of view of 28mm, or get up close and personal to your subjects with its minimum focus distance of 0.19m.
Capture creamy bokeh.
The lens' incredibly shallow depth of field gives you an edge when trying to achieve sharp detailed imagery in the foreground and soft beautiful bokeh in the background. Additionally, the NIKKOR Z 28mm f/2.8 offers a faster shutter speed without compromising exposure, providing sharp and clear images.
The NIKKOR Z 28mm f/2.8 offers dust- and drip-resistance performance1 to enable a creator to take this lens anywhere and everywhere.
The multi-focus difference.
Experience the quiet, fast and highly precise autofocus (AF) control of the lens which adopts the multi-focus system. Equipped with two stepping motors (STM), you can achieve close-up shooting while effectively minimising aberrations around the edges of the frame.
Z mount performance.
The large diameter and short focal distance of the ground-breaking Z mount makes it possible for the NIKKOR Z 28mm f/2.8 to achieve a balance of superior optical performance of sharpness and clarity while being more portable and lightweight.
A lens with a curved, non-spherical surface. Used to reduce aberrations and enable a more compact lens size. Aspherical lenses minimise coma and other types of lens aberrations, even when used at the widest aperture. They are particularly useful in correcting distortion in wide-angle lenses and help contribute to a lighter, more compact design by reducing the number of standard (spherical) elements necessary. Aspherical lens elements correct these distortions by continuously changing the refractive index from the centre of the lens.
A NIKKOR lens in which only the internal lens group shifts during focusing. Thus, IF NIKKORS do not change in size during AF operation, allowing for compact, lightweight lenses capable of closer focusing distances. These lenses will be designated with the abbreviation IF on the lens barrel.
NIKKOR Z lenses use a stepping motor for fast, accurate, smooth, quiet autofocus with reduced wobbling. This quiet drive system makes the lenses ideal for use when shooting video.
Electromagnetic Diaphragm Mechanism
An electromagnetic diaphragm mechanism in the lens barrel provides highly accurate electronic diaphragm or aperture blade control when using auto exposure during continuous shooting.
