Blackmagic MultiView 16

Now you can monitor multiple SDI sources on an HD or Ultra HD display or TV!

Blackmagic Multiview

Blackmagic MultiViews are the world’s first native Ultra HD multi viewers that let you monitor completely independent SDI video sources on a single HD or Ultra HD display! With full frame re‑synchronization on every input, you can monitor any combination of SD, HD and Ultra HD formats and frame rates all at the same time, on the same display. When used with an Ultra HD television, the quad split view gives you four full resolution 1080 HD monitors on a single screen! You also get on screen audio meters, custom view labels and much more!

Simultaneously view up to 16 independent SD, HD and Ultra HD sources!

MultiView 16 is perfect for larger installations because it has 16 independent 6G-SDI inputs so you can connect any combination of SD, HD or Ultra HD sources and monitor them all simultaneously on a single display! Router style controls on the front panel, along with the LCD and spin knob, let you adjust settings, route sources to different views, add overlays and more. Output can be set to a 2x2, 3x3 or 4x4 grid, and you can even SOLO any source full screen!

Studio or Live Use!

Multi source monitoring designed for broadcasters

Multi view monitoring is perfect for massive control rooms with lots of incoming feeds, for live multi camera production or for use on location and in tight spaces that don’t have room for multiple monitors. With Blackmagic MultiViews you don’t need to connect multiple monitors, dozens of cables or run extra power to see all of your video sources! Simply plug your cameras, decks, switchers and routers into the SDI connections to see everything with amazing clarity and detail on a single HD or Ultra HD monitor!

Independent Monitoring

Mix any combination of SD, HD and Ultra HD sources

Each view on a Blackmagic MultiView works as a completely independent video monitor. You get full frame re‑synchronization on all SDI inputs, which means that they can be any video standard and frame rate, and each input is completely independent of the others. You can mix any combination of referenced or non-referenced NTSC, PAL, 720p, 1080i, 1080p, and Ultra HD up to 2160p30 on some models, all on the same display at the same time! It's like getting 4 or 16 independent monitors in one!

Independent Monitoring

High Resolution Monitoring

The world’s highest resolution multi viewer!

High Resolution Monitoring

All Blackmagic MultiView models work with HD displays, while the 6G-SDI models also work with Ultra HD displays, so you get maximum compatibility with your existing equipment. That means you can use regular HD displays but you also have the choice to use an Ultra HD monitor for incredible sharpness! Ultra HD has four times the number of pixels of regular HD, so your video will look sharper and clearer than ever before! What this means is when displaying the 2x2 view on an Ultra HD monitor, each view is a full 1920 x 1080 HD resolution with no scaling! MultiView includes both SDI and HDMI outputs so you can connect to televisions, video projectors, broadcast monitors and more!

Multi Rate 6G-SDI Connections

Multi Rate SDI Connections

Supports all of your SD, HD and Ultra HD equipment!

Blackmagic MultiView models feature multi rate SDI inputs with full frame re-synchronization and some models also have separate loop through outputs, making them compatible with your existing equipment. The SDI inputs automatically detect and re-sync SD and HD formats, plus some models also re-sync Ultra HD formats up to 2160p30. You get HDMI and SDI output, and MultiView 16 also includes a reference input connection and blackburst/tri-level sync for studio installations.

Live Production

Portable and sharp camera monitoring!

Now you can monitor all of your cameras on a single television while on location or in the field to get a simple live production workflow. Blackmagic MultiViews are compact, lightweight and portable, making them perfect for fly away kits or broadcast trucks used for live production work! The Ultra HD models give you higher resolution monitoring and amazing clarity so you can accurately check camera focus and see technical issues, which is super important when you're doing critical live production work!

Live Production

Broadcast Control Rooms

Live feeds in any format, all on the same display!

With MultiView 16, you can build the most amazing master control rooms with massive wall mounted televisions displaying up to 16 video sources at the same time! With multi rate 6G-SDI inputs, loop outputs and automatic frame re-synchronization, you’ll be able to handle any type of SD, HD or Ultra HD incoming feed up to 2160p30. MultiView 16 can be controlled from the front panel making it easy to reconfigure based on your needs for master control monitoring!

Blackmagic MultiView simplifies your multi camera studio production by consolidating all sources onto a single, high resolution Ultra HD display! Monitor cameras, see SDI tally, and quickly check for matching color, exposure and focus. With a single, high resolution display you get incredible clarity and never have to worry about calibrating multiple monitors again. You’ll be able to quickly see if the color on one camera is different and fix it before it becomes a problem!

Post Production

Broadcast Control Rooms

Get a full overview of your router

Blackmagic MultiView 16 is the perfect solution for seeing all of the video that’s going through your facility! With its loop through video inputs and support for any video standard on any input, you can loop your SDI router outputs through the multi view and then use the monitoring to get a real time overview of your whole facility. You can even feed the Blackmagic MultiView SDI output back into your router so anyone in your company can quickly see what’s going on facility wide! For larger installations, you can also control it remotely using Videohub hardware control panels over Ethernet!

Flexible Design

Durable and rugged design for 24/7 reliability!

All Blackmagic MultiView models are designed to be durable and rugged enough for use out in the field or back in the studio, and are built for 24/7 dependability! Choose from compact Blackmagic MultiView 4 models that can go anywhere, or the super strong industrial strength all metal design of the Blackmagic MultiView 16 for larger installations!

Super tough machined metal design!

With a front panel that's crafted from aircraft grade aluminum, Blackmagic MultiView 16 looks great and is rugged enough to withstand years of use in extremely tough environments. Designed for managing complex multi source productions, the front panel features illuminated buttons, a built in display and spin knob control. Whether you’re using it in the studio or on a truck, Blackmagic MultiView 16 can withstand the rigorous stress of professional production work!

Al - Machined aluminum

Super fast flexible front panel control!

When you’re working on a live production or in a master control room, you need to be able to quickly switch views on the fly. Setting up and using MultiView 16 couldn’t be easier! There are no confusing menus or cryptic buttons. The front panel has 16 simple buttons, one for each of your video sources and you can quickly place any source into any position on the grid by using the LCD, spin knob, and SRC/VIEW buttons. There’s even a SOLO button for instantly viewing a single source!

Super fast flexible front panel control!

External Software Control

Get full control from your Mac or Windows computer

Blackmagic MultiView 4 and 16 can be connected to a standard Ethernet IP network and uses Bonjour so it’s automatically recognized by Mac and Windows computers running the control panel software! That means you can control them remotely, even if they're in a hard to reach rack, hidden in cable trays, or on the other side of the world! The software uses attractive, easy to understand icons and push buttons, making it simple and intuitive to use. You can easily add router labels to your outputs, view tally indicators and more!

Hardware Control Panels

Remote control panels in your facility

When you’re working in a larger facility, you may want to control your Blackmagic MultiView 16 from a location other than the front panel itself. That’s easy because MultiView 16 includes the Blackmagic Videohub protocol for external control over Ethernet, so you can control it using Blackmagic Design’s Videohub Smart Control or Videohub Master Control hardware panels! Simply plug the control panel into the Ethernet network for push button control! You can even use the Blackmagic Videohub Client software for on screen push button routing control with attractive buttons and icons. The Videohub software can also manage and create custom labels.

Control

Professional Connections

Connect multi view in line with your SDI feeds for easy installation!

The future proof design of Blackmagic MultiView includes multi rate SDI inputs with low jitter and automatic frame re‑synchronization on all inputs. Each loop output is also re‑clocked so you can put MultiView in line with other SDI equipment such as a live production switcher for camera source monitoring, or to view the output of other SDI equipment without having to use up additional dedicated router outputs. You get HDMI and either 3G-SDI or 6G-SDI outputs for use with HD or Ultra HD, depending on the model. MultiView 16 even has an extra HD-SDI output so you can monitor both HD and Ultra HD at the same time!

Professional Connections

International AC Power

Worldwide AC voltage compatibility allows worldwide use!

All Multiview models support 90V to 240V AC so they can be used anywhere internationally and will just work when plugged in. Often broadcast trucks and fly away kits need to be moved between countries that operate under different voltages, and now it’s easy to do that because rack mount models include a premium multi voltage power supply that’s able to handle a wide range of voltages and the HD model includes a power supply with international power adapters. MultiView 4 can also be powered over Ethernet when connected to a PoE+ compatible switch!
